Volunteer
If you have enthusiasm and time to spare, or a special skill to offer, why not volunteer to help Rescues so that they can do more great work and save more lives.
If there is a Rescue close to you (find a rescue), they will probably appreciate any offer of help you can give, whether it is hands on work with animals such as walking, feeding, cleaning out, fostering, transporting or more hands-off work such as fundraising, admin work, promoting their Rescue and events.
And even if there are no Rescues close to your home, you can still volunteer for Rescues all over the country. A great place to find Rescues needing assistance is to join Rescue Helpers Unite...
Rescue Helpers Unite
Rescue Helpers Unite (RHU) is a forum based network of animal rescues and volunteers that helps animals in need.
RHU's slogan is 'Helping Rescues Help More Animals'. This can be interpreted in many ways such as foster care, home checks, transport runs, contact between rescue organizations & connecting animals in need with forever homes.
Rescues work very hard to save animals, however they have a limited amount of resources and RHU as a community of animal loving volunteers aims to 'Help Rescues Help More Animals' by compiling a database of fosterers, home checkers & transporters.
ALL rescues can gain help for any animal in need with fundraising appeals and to advertise events.
The ultimate aim is to stop the hundreds of animals being put to sleep every single day due to the lack of space, funds and help.
