Tens of thousands of dogs euthanised in the UK & Ireland EVERY YEAR due to lack of homes.

Did you know that in 2007, over 105,000 STRAY DOGS were recorded to have been collected by Local Authorities in the UK?
According to a survey conducted on behalf of the charity ‘Dogs Trust’, of those collected 7,892 dogs were DESTROYED unnecessarily*.
On average, that’s 21 DOGS DESTROYED EVERY DAY. And this is just from Local Authority pounds. Many more thousands are destroyed by non 'no-kill' rescues every year.
And with around 30,000 dogs from the pounds going in to Rescue care every year, not every dog has a smooth journey to their new forever home, if they find one at all.
* In some cases a dog may be put to sleep due to injury or ill health
